The Effect of the Heller Concept Exercise Program on Premenstrual Syndrome and Body Balance of Female College Students
Hwangbo Seo-Hyeon
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to prove the effect of Heller concept pelvic stability exercise on improving premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and pelvic alignment in female college students. Thirty female college students with PMS participated in this study. Subjects were divided into experimental group (EG:n=15) and control group (CG:n=15). The experimental group conducted a Heller concept pelvic stabilization exercise, and no intervention was conducted for the control group. Back pain caused by PMS was measured by VAS, PMS index by MDQ, and pelvic alignment by body style software. In the experimental group to which Heller concept pelvic stabilization was applied, there were statistically significant effects on back pain, PMS scale, and pelvic alignment in the pre-post comparison (p<.05), This proved that Heller concept pelvic stabilization exercise is an effective intervention for PMS.
